City Life
Malaysia was great, I have been back in Perth for well, some time. And I also have a new job. I'm now working as a PA (again) at a stockbroking firm in the city. And while its great being in in the city, its also very bad. Very, VERY bad indeed. See, the 2 shops I'd always go to in the city are Valley Girl in Hay St Mall and Temt in Murray St Mall. Then without any warning, they moved that branch of Temt to Garden City which is about 15 minutes away by car. So its basically out of reach to me, unless I'm shopping at Carousel during the weekends, and that is a mere 5 minutes from my house.
But anyway, Valley Girl is still there, and pretty much in line with where I work. All i have to do is cross the road and walk about 25 metres or so and I'm there. And its bad because they have a pretty quick turnaround so there's new stuff in at least once a week. If not 2. So I tend to buy things pretty often. And at my new job, I'm paid on a monthly basis, rather then weekly as when I was at Telstra. Its just not a good thing that I'm spending all this money before I've actually got it. And I can tell you, I wasn't curbing the shopping very much even before I got a job.
The thing is, if i try not to shop, I wind up eating. Which is also not good as I"m trying to lose weight. Yeah, still. My mom was here for a month so I had lots of rather late dinners. And large dinner at that. Its just that by the time we wound up eating, I was so hungry that I'd eat more than I usually would. At least its stil not too cold that I can't just walk around in the malls. I occasionally go into some other shops but most of them are a wee bit pricier.
I've decided, I'm going to have to find somewhere to sit and read. I'll look very odd but hey, its better than shopping or eating. Actually, maybe not better as in nicer, but better for my bank balance and belly.
